ANOTHER THANK YOU!

Here is another Thank you card, this time using Penny Black's Tweet Wreath stamp set.

The wreath was inked with Hero Arts Green Fields ink pad and stamped slightly offset onto a cream colored card stock piece cut to 5.25" x 4". I used a lighter green watercolor pencil to fill in the open leaves, and blended the color using a wet watercolor brush. Red glitter was used for the berries, and also sprinkled onto random dots of glue for the background. The sentiment was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink. This piece was then adhered with foam tape to an A2 cream colored card base.

I also created the above 3" x 3" gift enclosure card with this stamp, using the same ink colors. The top piece was cut to 2.75" x 2.75". The background leaves are from Penny Black's Petite Blossoms stencil, which was positioned and sponged with Peeled Paint Distress Ink, being careful to avoid the stamped image. The sentiment is from the Smile All Season stamp set, stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Red glitter was used on the berries, and this piece was then adhered with foam tape to a piece of cream colored card stock cut to 6" x 3" folded in half.

Penny Black has many large cling stamps, and I love to use portions of these stamps to create the smaller cards. I will post some samples of those soon.

Thank you again for stopping by!

HEARTFELT THANKS

Just a few more days and we're on to a new year. I'm feeling grateful for all of the blessings this year has brought, and I hope you are too.

My card today uses the bird and holly from Penny Black's Bird Amidst Holly set.

The paper used for the card base and center piece were cut from cream colored card stock. The sentiment is from an older Hero Arts set, stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. The holly was cut from a light green card stock and shaded with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. Deep purple seed beads were glued on over the berries as shown, and the holly was adhered directly onto the smaller piece. The assembled piece was then adhered to the card base with foam tape. The bird from the set was die cut from the same cream colored card stock, and shaded with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. A circle punch was used to cut a black circle, which was adhered behind the eye opening and the beak was colored with an orange colored pencil. This was then adhered with foam tape.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card for you! In the meantime, have a wonderful Saturday!

MANY THANKS

I have a few more cards to share with you. Here is one featuring a couple of Penny Black dies.

This was another quick and easy card. To the white A2 card base, I adhered another white piece cut to 3.75" x 5" that was brushed lightly with Faded Jeans Distress Ink. The sentiment is from the Happy Snippets set, inked in Versafine Onyx Black ink. This set, by the way, has some wonderful little phrases for almost every occasion. The bell from the Christmassy set was cut from a light blue card stock and shaded with Faded Jeans. The snowflake was die cut from white card stock and added to the bell center. It was then attached using foam tape and it was slightly shaped to appear round. The set comes with a die for the bell bottom, which was die cut from scrap card stock. The negative space was used as a stencil to shade the bottom portion of the bell, again using Faded Jeans. The Berry Flourish was cut from white card stock, and a light blue glitter was used on the berries. This was positioned around the bell as shown. Dots of glue were placed randomly on the card front and sprinkled with the light blue glitter. Very clean and simple to do.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

More Joy and Merriment!

I can't believe tomorrow's the day! I hope you're all ready as can be! '

Here is another Penny Black Christmas card!

I started with a dark green card base. I cut a piece of light gray card stock to 5.5" x 4" and adhered this to the base with foam tape. I die cut the Cut Out Wreath onto a piece of white card stock and trimmed the sides to slightly less than the gray piece. The sentiment from the Joy & Merriment set was inked with Versafine Onyx Black and stamped in the center. I then adhered a celery colored card stock directly behind the die cut. The berry openings were filled with glue and sprinkled with light blue glitter. This piece was then adhered over the gray piece.

I die cut the bow from the Cut Out Wreath in a dark blue card stock, added the light blue glitter to the center, and adhered it as shown using foam tape. This was such a quick and easy card to make!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and many blessings!

JOY AND HAPPINESS!

Happy Sunday to all!

Only two more days and Christmas is here! Today I'm featuring another Penny Black card.

I started with a rich red card base. I inked the sentiment from Snowflake Sentiments with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I then used chunky white embossing powder for the snow, which is lightly sprinkled onto the card front and heated from the back side. I created the white frame using two dies from the Elegant Stitching set and added it to the base. I cut the Airy branch from green card stock, applied Versamark embossing pen onto the tips and embossed with white embossing powder. The Sleigh was cut twice, one from white and the other from medium brown card stock. I removed the bottom portion of the white sleigh and adhered it onto the brown sleigh. I used a glue pen to trace the curls on the sleigh and added red glitter to that.

I positioned the green branch behind the sleigh and overlapped it as shown. The assembled piece was adhered to the card front with foam tape. I absolutely love this sleigh! There are so many ways it can be used. My scene wasn't complete without two little birdies from the Winter Trees set. I die cut them in white, then sponged them with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I added a little Gathered Twigs for shading, and some clear glitter onto their bellies. As I always do to bring them to life, I added a black dot for the eyes and colored their beaks with an orange colored pencil.

I'll have another card for you tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by!

Winter Blessings!

I absolutely LOVE all things Penny Black, can you tell? I have another couple of cards to share with you today!

This card has a dark blue A2 base. A light gray piece of card stock was cut to 3.75" x 5.5", and before doing anything else, the sentiment from Winter Sentiments was stamped at the upper right with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Have you ever assembled a card and THEN tried to stamp the sentiment? Not pretty! Snow was added by sprinkling on chunky white embossing powder heating from underneath. This piece was then adhered directly to the card front.

The Poinsettia Cut Out was cut twice, one from a dark green card stock and another from a light blue card stock. The leaves were fussy cut from the light blue poinsettia, and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide was sponged outward from the center. It was then adhered to the matching green poinsettia. Gold glitter was added to the center and to the lines of the flower. The Winter Branch was cut from white card stock and separated into two pieces and adhered as shown. The assembled poinsettia was then added with foam tape. Done!

The card above has a light gray A2 card base. The Rows of Stitches die was first die cut onto a 5.5" piece of white card stock, and then trimmed to slightly less than 1" wide. This was added to the card base. The blue layer was cut using one of the dies from the Elegant Stitching set, and the top layer was cut from white card stock using the next size down of the same die. The sentiment from Smile All Season was stamped as shown with Versafine Onyx Black ink. The two layers were adhered together, and added to the card front with foam tape.

The Ornament Branch was cut twice, one from white card stock and the other from dark green. The leaves on the white piece were sponged with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide, and the ornament was sponged with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide. The ornament was removed from the dark green piece, and both pieces were then adhered as shown onto the card front, with a piece of foam tape added behind the ornament. The 3 Snowflakes dies were cut from white card stock, and added as shown. Pearl gems were added to complete the card.

I sure hope these cards bring some inspiration to you, if not for this year, then a head start on next year! Thanks for stopping by!

Believe and Be Merry!

Hi everyone! I hope you've had a chance to check out yesterday's Penny Black blog hop showcasing the new Valentine release and beautiful cards from the participating designers. You never know ... you could be one of the lucky three winners of a $50 Penny Black shopping spree! All you have to do is leave a comment on any or all of the posts. You have until 11:59pm Sunday evening, and the winners will be announced on the Penny Black blog on December 31st!

I'll be posting a few Penny Black Christmas cards over the next few days, and here are two of them.

For the card below, I inked the Elaborate background stamp with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink and stamped onto a rick red card stock cut 3.75" x 5.50", which was then adhered to an A2 white card base. The circle is from the Stitched Square/Circle die set, and was cut from white card stock. The sentiment from Believe In Dreams set and the Deer in Tree were cut from white card stock. I used Distress Oxide Inks to color the Deer in Tree and adhered this to the white circle, and this piece was then adhered to the card front using foam tape. The sentiment was glittered with clear glitter and adhered where shown. For an added touch, I added glitter to the tree frame.

The card below was quick and easy. The white A2 card base was stamped using the Christmas Poinsettia stamp, which was inked with Antique Linen Distress Oxide and stamped randomly to cover the card base. The circle was cut from a tan card stock using the Stitched Square/Circles die. It was adhered slightly offset to the right on the card, and the overage was snipped off. The Berry Flourish was cut from white card stock and colored with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide. The berries were covered with red glitter. It was then adhered the die cut to conform to the circle. The sentiment from the Christmas Sentiments set was inked in Versafine Onyx Black ink and stamped as shown. It wouldn't be complete without a couple of little birds from the Winter Trees set, one in red, and the other from white card stock, inked with Antique Linen Distress Oxide, and both of their little bellies were glittered. To bring them to life, I added a dot for the eyes and used an orange colored pencil to color their beaks.

Thanks for stopping by today!

It's a Party with Penny!

I'm so glad to be back after such a long absence. There have been lots of changes since I was last here, including a major move, but things are steady now, my craft room is up and running again, and I'm ready to roll!

Today I'm participating in a Penny Black blog hop!

You're invited to join in the fun over the  next several days as Penny Black reveals their newest collection of stamps and dies, Happy Heart Day!

Penny Black is kicking off the party with a blog hop! You should have arrived here from Marion Vagg's blog (https://mademarion.vagg.org/). If you want to start the hop from the beginning, you can go to the Penny Black blog (https://pennyblackinc.wordpress.com/ for a complete list of all of the blog hop participants.

Oh, what a fun release this is! You're going to love the critters, some with matching dies, and I have featured one of them, the cutest little bunny ever! I will have links to the Penny Black products used near the end of the post.

I started with a standard A2 card base from dark red paper. A 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of light tan was adhered to the card front. The largest heart from the Heart Balloons was cut from 100 lb. white card stock. I wanted to add a little texture to the heart, so I laid down strips of 1/8" double sided tape and glittered them up!

This adorable bunny from the Lovable and Lovable Cut Out sets was stamped with permanent black ink onto watercolor paper, embossed with clear embossing powder, then die cut with the matching die. I squiggled color from water based markers onto an acrylic block, then picked up the color with a wet watercolor brush and applied it to the bunny. A red twine bow gave her a girly-girly look!

I die cut the Soft Caress from white card stock, and another set of hearts from Pomegranate. I colored the stems with green, then adhered the red hearts directly over the white ones. The glittered heart was added to the card front, the long stemmed hearts were adhered, and then the bunny was adhered with foam tape. The tiny hearts scattered around are just a few of the many you can get from any of the dies from the Lovely Border set.

Here are the links to the products I used:
30-529 Lovable
51-491 Lovable Cut Out
51-493 Heart Balloons
30-528 Kisses and Wishes
51-092 Soft Caress

These and all of the dies and stamps from this wonderful new release are now available in the
